Ordering & Pickup
Why do you only offer pickup?
We’ve established pickup locations throughout Miami to keep our prices low and pass those savings on to you. By opting for pickup instead of delivery, we ensure that it’s convenient for you to collect your order.
Just select the location that best suits your schedule—whether it’s near your home, office, or along your daily route.
How does your pre-order system work?
We only offer Saturday pickups because that's when we fly our fresh crabs into MIami from the Bahamas.
Don’t worry we won’t charge your card until your order is confirmed on Saturday.
Preparation
What's the best way to crack stone crab claws?
Here’s an insider tip: the best way to crack stone crab claws is to hold them in your hand and gently smack the shell with the back of a sturdy metal spoon. While it may sound unusual, this method easily cracks the shell without pushing fragments into the meat, ensuring a clean meat. Many people think a hammer or wooden mallet works best, but hitting the claws too hard can drive shell pieces into the meat—something nobody likes! Once you try the spoon method you won't go back.
Are my stone crab claws cooked?
Yes! We boil our claws for 8 minutes immediately after catching them, then flash-freeze them to lock in peak freshness and flavor.
What's the best way to eat them?
Our crabs come to you full cooked and are traditionally eaten cold
- Florida style is with a mustard cream sauce - Nick love them this way
- Bahamian style are served cracked with melted butter garlic. Link to recipe. - This is Kumar's favorite way
- Cold or warm with melted butter and lemon - Mike likes them best served cold with butter and lemon. Link to recipe
How long can I store my claws if I freeze them?
We recommend enjoying your claws within three months of defrosting to ensure they taste just as fresh as the day they came from the sea.
What's the recommended serving size?
We recommend at least 1.5 pounds per person. For example, a dinner for two would require 3 pounds, while a dinner for four would need 6 pounds. Keep in mind that the number of claws you'll get will vary depending on the size of claw you choose. The bigger the claw the more the meat.
About Our Crabs
Where do you catch your stone crabs?
We catch our stone crab in the pristine waters of the Bahamas. The Bahamas offers a unique advantage over Florida for stone crab harvesting due to its less crowded fisheries, which means our crabs come from underfished areas. This allows us to focus on larger, more premium claws that aren’t as readily available in more heavily fished waters like Florida. The clear, clean waters of the Bahamas also contribute to the exceptional quality and flavor of our claws, ensuring that you receive the best-tasting and highest-quality stone crabs available.
Are your stone crabs really sustainable and regenerative?
In addition to being delicious, stone crabs are a 100% sustainable and regenerative resource. We only harvest one claw per crab, which is then released back into the water, where it can regrow its claw 6-7 times throughout its life. Enjoy your stone crabs guilt free with the knowledge that you're supporting sustainable fishing practices!
What are the black spots on the claw's shell?
The black spots on the claw's shell are small bruises caused by sea urchin spines and other battle scars. These spots are completely normal and doesn't affect the flavor or quality of the meat. In fact, if you see black spots, it means your crab is a true warrior!
